The 72 genii: your three genii of birth
Lenain gives everyone three genii: one for the body, by the five days of birth; one for the morals, by the day; one for the soul, by the hour. Enter your date and time of birth.
How Lenain counts
- The genius of the body rules five days in a row, starting on 20 March: the 1st from 20 to 24 March, the 2nd from 25 to 29, and so on to the 72nd, from 10 to 14 March.
- The genius of the morals rules one day and returns every seventy-two days: the 1st presides on 20 March, 31 May, 11 August, 22 October and 2 January.
- The genius of the soul rules twenty minutes: the 1st from midnight to twenty past, the 72nd from 11.40 pm to midnight.
The five days from 15 to 19 March belong to no genius. The calculation follows Lenain’s tables as they stand, on the civil calendar; we add nothing.
The genii of the occult sciences
Five genii touch the occult in the text: the 25th, Nith-Haiah, who “rules all the occult sciences” and those who “practise the magic of the wise”; the 67th, Eiael; the 51st, Hahasiah, of the philosopher’s stone; the 5th, Mahasiah; and the 72nd, Mumiah, who “protects in mysterious operations”. To be born from 18 to 22 July is to have Nith-Haiah as genius of the body.
